MacBook Rejects CD-ROMS

Hey Theymos!
I have the older version of a Macbook, I'm not sure how firmiliar with Macs you are, but I thought I would give it a shot.
Everytime I put in a CD-ROM it will read it for maybe 30 seconds and then reject it automatically, everytime. I tryed a brand new CD and an older one, neither worked, so I know it's not the scratches.
I also looked on google and the Apple website, any suggestions?
