Question Posted Friday April 20 2007, 3:17 pm

Me and my boyfriend have been haveing sex for awhile and he never used a condom because I was getting put on birth control. Therefore I know its not a condom but I just started my birth control and he started saying it burnt when he had to pee after we had sex and now I am having it and the burning last for awhile. What could it be??

birth control doesnt start working solid for 3 months and its not accurate all the time. you can DEFINITLY get pregnant if he's not using a condom. and even if he was..you can still get pregnant. i dont know about this burning thing. could be an std? get it checked. but wow. use a condom.

Do yourself a favor and get this checked out immediately. You may have a UTI (urinary tract infection). You should go get tested for a number of things- there's no way for anyone on this site to give you an accurate diagnosis. Since you did not use a condom, there is a chance you may have contracted an STD.. you never know, even when the guy says he's faithful (and I'm not implying your boyfriend isn't)..I'm just saying it's better to play it safe. In all likelihood, this could be a minor infection that can easily be cured with antibiotics. But again, only a health care provider can know for sure. Just explain to them your symptoms, and they'll likely do a urine test to let you know what's going on. And it's always a good idea to go "Double Dutch.," or using birth control pills AND a condom, to reduce the likelihood of pregnancy or STD's.

Hey
You could have a urinary tract infection, but its not contageous - and its not too serious, so long as you get it fixed. Go to your doctor and get checked out to make sure, becuase it could be a few things. Cranberry juice helps fend utc's away.
good luck!
