CD burner

Question Posted Thursday April 19 2007, 6:52 pm

I got this computer about 2 years ago. Then it had a CD burner and it worked really well. Now I have done nothing different and it doesn't work. It says that the CD is in and it continues to burn (on iTunes), but when I take it out and try to play it there is nothing on it. Could this be something I can fix myself or do I need to get a pro? If I can fix it, how?

I'm not sure how itunes works but there's a few things you can try to get an idea of what the problem might be.

Have you burned music before using itunes which has worked? If not then I suggest trying a different burning program because it might just be itunes that's the problem.

If it has usually worked then try burning a movie or a few other random things onto a CD-R and see if they all burned okay (you may need a different program to do this because I'm not sure how itunes works).

These are the only things I can suggest really but you have been using the CD burner for a while now and eventually they do get worn out and need replacing (I've had to replace my DVD-RW recently after 3 years of use).
