Garters for prom

Question Posted Thursday April 12 2007, 5:22 pm

What is the garter tradition for prom? Like, I know you are supposed to give it to your date as a souvenir, but when do you do it? Are you just supposed to take it off yourself? Because that seems kind of awkward. Also, is it pretty much the same everywhere? Or is it different in different areas? If anyone could explain it, that would be great! Thanks =)

Personally I think garters for prom is pretty dumb but whatever you wanna do. Typically, you have your date take it off at the end of the night. Less awkward. Yes, its pretty much the same everywhere. Just at the end of the night, have him take it off. :] Good Luck.
