Ok i'm smart and my highest number of A's were 12 and I want to be a doctor or work in the medical field but there's some things that are pushing me back:
I'm not sure I have the skills exactly. I have A's on the subjects to work in the medical field but it takes me hours to think for the homework and working in the medical field, your brain should act smart quickly.
I don't like the subjects to work in the medical field: math, science, etc. Sure I get A's on them, but it takes me hours to earn that A because I sit like all day working on it.
Your career should be something you like to do and based on your interests and talents. But my family cares about making money. All my talents and jobs related to it, don't make a lot of money. I want to make a lot of money so I can move out and buy my own house and be free.
But it's like I can only be a doctor because I feel like it's my job to be a doctor and help everyone, plus I make money too.
But I'm kind of scared of gore and stuff, but I can be a doctor for natural cures..
But all doctors are so old..they must have sacraficed a lot of their time and studying instead of playing with friends just to hlep these people. I want a lot of money to finalyl buy what I want but buy the time I'm that age then I won't be able to buy those clothes..
And I've been through a lot already so i dont' want to suffer anymore.
What if after everything, schools and stuff, right at the end when I'm about to be a doctor, I realized that I change my mind and there's no time left in my life to change?
I know this is long but please help me..I'm in so much stress and pain..
To be a doctor, you're gonna be in med school for a loooong time. You'll know fairly quickly if it's for you- within the first couple years; and you could change your major since a lot of courses are the same the first year or so regardless of what you end up doing.
If your main concern is helping people, have you considered similar careers, such as a psychiatrist? Or, you could be a doctor and specialize in something that isn't likely to be gory and icky. Like feet, for example. Podiatrist, I think? Or a chiropractor.
I'm assuming you're still in highschool. Even if you're not, I'm sure you could still "shadow" someone at their job. Got an aunt that's an RN, or a close family friend that's a doctor? Ask if you can go with them to work for a few days, see what they do! Highschool guidance counselors are great for stuff like this; they may be able to "guide" you to a local hospital or clinic that does things like shadowing.
Money's not everything. If you're miserable making $80,000 a year, all the clothes in the world aren't gonna make you happy. You'll be better off making $35,000, buying clothes less frequently (you can wear things more than once, haha) and being happy. Plus, doctors work long hours. Keep that in mind.
