Suffering from bipolar I

Question Posted Tuesday March 20 2007, 12:49 am

I've been bipolar for about the last three years. My mood goes up and down every now and then. I have a seen a therapist about this but he didn't do much about it. For about the past year, my mood has pretty much been stable but just recently, it started acting up again. I find it difficult to do work for school, which is very important because I'm in my sophomore year and grades start to matter now. I'm also having difficulty controlling my bursts of anger that can be triggered by the slightest thing that annoys me. I was wondering if you had any advice on how to deal with this.

I'm not bipolar but i definitely go through the exact same thing. I'm one of those people that if every thing's not the way I expected or wanted I freak out and am in a HORRID mood. The things I do to try to solve it are I try to work really hard in school like study for a big test that's coming up so then I get happy from achieving what I worked hard at. Also, I have days where I try to I guess pamper myself like just relax and make myself look pretty so I can look in the mirror and feel confident and happy. Also, when I'm down I listen to upbeat music and think of all the good things that have happened to me and that always helps.

It's always a good thing to look at the positives and not the negatives. Also to look at what you want to achieve and do it because that's one of the best feelings is to accomplish what you've been working hard at.

Hope I helped you & you know where to find me if you need more help.
:)
