heyy, okay well im 13.
i really like this boy in my class and last year in 7th grade i thought he liked me to. i mean we started to become really close friends last year and i had a feeling that something good was going to happen. but then school was over and the summer started, i saw him a couple of times and we hung out a little but then in 8th grade [he was in most of my classes] he just became very distant and started hanging out with a different set of people. we still talk but it's talking like we just met and i still like him. what do i do? how do i rebuild the friendship that we had?

well, good thing is, you still talk. even a little is good enough to start with. just talk to him more often. since you have enough classes to talk to him at, take the advantage. he might be feeling the same way, if you were really that good of friends.
in my experience, what i did was to just come up and talk to him as much as possible. it was VERY AWKWARD, and you can't help that. but ever since then, it just kept getting better and better. talk about what you used to talk about. maybe say something like, "remember that time when ....." bring back old memories. funny ones, mostly.
act like you like him, but don't make it too obvious. be a little more flirty towards him. he'll get the message, i'm sure. if not, well, there's always confrontation - just tell him you like him. but, through personal experiences, don't do that unless it's the last resort. telling a friend your feelings for them doesn't always help your friendship. so just keep talking to him. it's better than acting like strangers with each other. if it was as bad as it can get, it can only be better from now on.
