Random, sorry. Sorry if this is kind of akward, but how did you lose 80 pounds?

I exercised, and watched what I ate. Mind you, I took it too far, but I would have lost the weight even if I'd done it in a healthier way (and I probably wouldn't be stuck with extra skin right now).
Exercise was definitely a major component. I deal with chronic pain, so it was really difficult sometimes, but it's helping me a lot. It's made me stronger, which decreases the pain, and it gets me out of the house. It also gives me time to think and be by myself. Besides, it just plain feels good--I have self-esteem problems, admittedly, but when I walk, I like my body. I can feel what it's doing for me.
Watching what I eat--I got that right at first. My first 30 pounds or so were based solely on exercise and eating right. I took in about 1500 calories, in lean meats, veggies, fruits, and healthy carbs. My body appreciated it.
I did make the mistake of taking it too far. I've dealt with depression for many years, and had one previous bout with an (undiagnosed) eating disorder. The tendency was already there, and I got complacent about it. As a result, it will likely be difficult for me to maintain my weight loss. So please, if you're looking to lose weight, don't make the mistake I did.
I was on the right track at first. That's the way I should have kept doing it, and that's the right way to go about losing the weight. Lifestyle changes, exercise, eating healthy foods. Simple as that.
And sorry, that was sporadic and random, but I feel the need to once again caution against heavy restriction. ]
