Do anaerobic exercise (weight lifting). It helps you build more muscle and speeds up your metabolism. Be careful not to try and lift too heavy weights to start with.
This is not recommended, but caffeine (found in coffee, tea, and some soft drinks) also temporarily speeds up your metabolism. If you don't normally drink anything with caffeine, don't start because it can be addictive, and too much caffeine isn't good for you. ]
The only things that I have heard to increase metabolism are peanut butter and exercise. The peanut butter thing isn't proven, but I hear it works. ]
