I have to do something at work tomorrow I really don't want

Question Posted Saturday March 10 2007, 11:58 am

18/F

I work in a tanning salon, and I just got promoted to assistant manager. Tomorrow night will be the first night I close, and my manager told me that I have to clean out our lost and found tomorrow and throw away everything. There is a large photo album that this girl left in a tanning room that's full of vacation, family, and friend pics. I asked our manager and she says that it had better not be there when she comes in Monday morning. Since our trash goes into a dumpster that compresses all the trash and I have to take the trash out before we leave, I know I'll have to be the one that trashes that album and that it won't be retrieveable after I do that. It's been there for 6 months though, and we've never even gotten a call about it.

This is my first job, and I've worked there for 2 years...I so don't want to blow it, but I so don't want to have to be the one to do that to that girl's pics and photo album...what should I do?

Well if you feel it might be something important and she doesnt know that its missing why dont you save it? Keep it in your car, in the trunk or something and if you happen to see the girl or someone comes in asking about it; tell her that you saved it and you'll give it to her. I wouldnt want to throw something like that out either. Im sure she just doesnt know that its missing. I wouild definitely save it and wait until she realizes its missing and comes in. Or you could maybe post something on the main window saying "photo album found. is it yours?" or something of that nature in case she comes back in and still doesnt realize its gone
