I assume you're talking about a bottom feeder in biology.

A bottom feeder would be a fish or marine animal that eats things off of the bottom of a lake, ocean, or other body of water. Some species of catfish are bottom feeders. Bottom feeders don't have to be detritivores (organisms that feed on decomposing organic material and return it to the food chain); however, many are.
