7zip/Winzip

Question Posted Wednesday February 14 2007, 8:28 pm

My Winzip is "expired" so I want another program that's good so I heard of 7zip? Can it replace WinZip when it's downloaded and does anyone have it on their computer so I can be rest assured that it's safe? What about the files that need Winzip to open? Will they not work anymore?

7zip is superior to winzip. I use it, and while the user interface isn't the most friendly, I definitely recommend it. [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

7zip is amazing. Safe, free, and it does everything Winzip does. I've never had any problems with it, nor have I found anything it can't open.

I definitely recommend it. You don't necessarily have to delete WinZip, but I doubt you'll want to use it anymore once you use 7zip.
