Ok I just learned that Saying "Oh My God" is like really disrespectful to the bible but the problem is I cant exactly stop saying it. Today I was talking on the bus for like 10 minutes and my friend was like "You just said oh my god 17 times" I was shocked. I say it all the time. How do you break a habit like that??
But anyways. What I do to help me break habits is to write dashes on my hand with a pen every time I do the habit. So if you say "Oh my G-d!" 30 times, then there should be 30 dashes on your hand. Then, the next day, try to make that number lower. Keep doing this until you don't have to write on yourself anymore. [ pootietang's advice column | Ask pootietang A Question ]

DearAbby92 answered Monday February 12 2007, 8:03 pm: Substitue it with a new saying. "Oh my gosh" maybe. Or "Oh crumb." There are lots of funny sayings you can use.
Have a word jar. Everytime you say that bad phrase, put a certain amount of money in and have a trustworthy friend (who wont take your cash and go shopping) to keep it so you cant get into it. After you've gone a month without saying the word, take the money and put it towards a nice reward like a mani or a pedi.
