Breaking A Habit Ok I just learned that Saying "Oh My God" is like really disrespectful to the bible but the problem is I cant exactly stop saying it. Today I was talking on the bus for like 10 minutes and my friend was like "You just said oh my god 17 times" I was shocked. I say it all the time. How do you break a habit like that??

First of all, don't listen to the person below me. Saying it every once in a while isn't okay. That's like saying "Sinning every now and then is perfectly fine". Uhm, no it isn't. A sin is a sin.
But anyways. What I do to help me break habits is to write dashes on my hand with a pen every time I do the habit. So if you say "Oh my G-d!" 30 times, then there should be 30 dashes on your hand. Then, the next day, try to make that number lower. Keep doing this until you don't have to write on yourself anymore. ]
Yes you do not want to over use the phrase Oh my God!! It's against the 1st commandment! you can say it every once and awhile though! The best way to stop is to try to say Oh my Gosh or if thats weird try saying something else!
Sry if i didn't help ]
Substitue it with a new saying. "Oh my gosh" maybe. Or "Oh crumb." There are lots of funny sayings you can use.
Have a word jar. Everytime you say that bad phrase, put a certain amount of money in and have a trustworthy friend (who wont take your cash and go shopping) to keep it so you cant get into it. After you've gone a month without saying the word, take the money and put it towards a nice reward like a mani or a pedi.
Good luck!
