itunes says its not connected to the internet. "Itunes could not connect to the itunes music store. Make sure your network connection is active and try again" Which is a little rediculous. Since obviously its connected. I'M ON THIS WEBSITE! lol.
I would appreciate it if you didn't just google and take one of the first few answers your find, since I am perfectly capable of doing that myself.

TEMPORARILY turn off your firewall. Also, after you turn off some firewalls, the windows firewall automatically turns on(annoyingly). If you never installed a firewall and use XP SP2, windows firewall is on. Go to start>control panel>classic view>windows firewall and turn it off. Here's apple's troubleshooting page on that issue:
