downloading YouTube videos

does anyone know how to download videos form YouTube?

And do you need to download something to download the video? Because I don't want to download a program or anything..maybe I can like send someone the video, they download it, and send it to me?

give them the URL of the page with the video you want on youtube, and it'll give you a link for downloading it(make sure to right click>save as). It outputs in a flash video file, which any player should be able to play if you have flash player installed:

this is a plugin, not really a program, flash player doesn't play the movie, you just need it to play flash on your system.
