I give up. What else is there to do with my hair?!

Question Posted Tuesday February 6 2007, 6:24 pm

I'm sick of every hair product that I buy not working. I've never tried Paul Mitchell, Big Sexy Hair, Back To Basics, or Redken though. Has anyone who has very (Not just a little bit frizzy, a few split ends here and there. I mean VERY.) dry and damaged hair ever tried these products and have they actually worked? If not, does anyone know what else I can do with my hair? Any possible things that you can do with it can all damage it in some way. I can't straighten it anymore (That's part of the reason why it's so damaged...along with coloring and highlighting it). I can't curl it because that fries it. I can't scrunch it because when I do it the only way it turns out good is by blow drying it, which damages it also. I can't put it up because it causes breakage according to everyone I've asked. I can't wear it normally because it's so damaged that it looks terrible. Gosh, what else is there to do?!

Another tip, when you do deep condition your hair at home take a damp towel and heat it in the microwave then wrap around your hair. It will act somewhat like the drier the salon will put you under. I use Big Sexy Hair and LOVE IT!!!! Good luck!

My problem used to be just like yours.
Heres what I recommend:
-Invest your money, go to a salon.
Ask them to take care of your hair. They will have to cut your hair to get rid of as much damage and split ends as they can. Also, upon request they will deep condition your hair which can bring your hair back to life.

Now, once the salon has done all it can its up to you to keep your hair healthy. Wash your hair about every other day, and always condition it. The more you wash it the more dried out it will become. I suggest Biolage Damagage Repair shampoo+conditioner. (Or the Hydration shampoo by Biolage)

Ask the salon to show you some ways to style your hair that take less usage of a flat iron or a curling iron. I'm sure they'll be happy to help.

With their suggestions, try some new styles for your hair. I do realize you'll still want to straighten it and curl it at times, so ALWAYS be sure to use a heat protectant before using any hot tool on your hair. Also, try a deep conditioner about once a week for a few months to restore your hair. (Garnier makes a great one) Also, there is a Pantene Shampoo call Pantene Pro-V Restorative that says it'll take care of up to two years of damage, my friend tried it and loved it. Dove makes a restoring shampoo as well.

Good Luck <3
