can someone please explain to me how to read tabs? I`ve read them off a few internet sites but the description doesn`t make sense! here`s an example of what I would like to know -

from the tab, you place one finger on the 11th fret down on the d string, then another finger on the 11th fret on the a string. thats pretty much it. you just put your fingers on the fret specified by the number and on the string specified at the beginning of the tab.
the x means to palm mute. if you dont know what palm muting is, you can drop one in my inbox or look online, i just dont want to put it on here if you already know what it means.
