For me, it wasn't hard, because I gradually gave up meat in steps. I cut out red meat about 3 years ago. I was then eating chicken, pork, and fish. After a while I started eating less white meat, until finally I gave that up as well. After that, for about a year, I was a pesco-vegetarian until finally at the end of last year I stopped eating seafood too.
Now that i'm a full vegetarian, I have no cravings for meat at all. At first it was kind of horrible to go out to dinner and see people eating chicken fingers (they were my favorite), but now I don't think anything of it. Plus, imitation chicken nuggets satisfy the craving when my family and friends eat real ones.
The hardest part about vegetarianism is going out to eat. My family goes out to dinner atleast three times a week, and it's a bit of a hassle to find a place that serves vegetarian options. [ pockets's advice column | Ask pockets A Question ]
