Question Posted Sunday December 31 2006, 2:33 am

I'm a virgin, I used to play a lot of sports and ride horses, now I'm not really into that stuff. It kind of has feeling, but not really...it's hard to explain, it's very faint, so it's hard to classify how it feels. I don't use tampons, and it's right above my vagina opening...

OK, you rode horses. This tissue could very well be the remnants of your hymen. That's the tissue that sometimes covers the vaginal openings of virgins. Athletic girls, esp. horseback riders, are well known to have torn hymens and it doesn't mean you're not a virgin anymore.
I wouldn't worry about it, or even give it another thought, unless it starts to hurt or seems infected. The next time you see a doctor, have her or him take a look, and that will really put your mind at ease. The remnants of a hymen can be snipped away.
Don't be afraid that you have some strange growth. I'm sure you'll be fine. Gigi
