Depo

Question Posted Wednesday December 27 2006, 11:49 am

Ok so I started Depo about a month ago. I skipped my period that was supppsed to be a month after I got the shot. And now I am having a weird brownish period. Sometimes its brown sometimes it's brown with very very light pink in it. Should I be worried about pregnacy? And why did I skip a period and then continue?

no no, don't be worried about pregnancy. it's just excess waste. you body functions just dont continuaously work the same way sometimes. you get a little irregurlty sometimes but it is definately nothing to worry about.

Check out this link to see all of the information about Depo Provera, including side effects such as missed periods.
It doesn't state anything about having brownish periods, so it would be a good idea to call the health care provider who gives you the shot and ask if this is normal or abnormal.
As for being pregnant, I think you are worrying needlessly. Skipping periods, light periods, and breast tenderness are side effects of the drug. But be sure to bring up this and any other concerns you may have when you call your health care provider.
