Ipod..

Can someone explain the manual mode for an ipod? i just got one today for xmas. My cousin told me that if i put it on manual mode then i can delete all the songs out of my library and wen i hook my ipod back to the computer it wont delete them is that true?

no, not really. you can either set it to manual or automatic. on manual, you plug in the ipod and then drag songs from itunes onto it. that way you don't have to put all your songs on it, and you can also plug it into different computers and get new music (however if you do thi, click NO when it says auto change, whatever to that other computer)
if you put it on automatic, then everything on your itunes library will go to the ipod, and if you import more songs, they will automatically go to the ipod every time you plug it in. but on automatic you can't connect it to more than one computer.
all of these settings are in preferences in itunes
