Question Posted Tuesday December 19 2006, 3:30 pm

15/f

My best friend, Justin, has liked me for 3 years. We went out 4 times 3 years ago but things didn't work out. I like him a lot and he likes me. But here's the problem: My boyfriend of 7 months dumped me 3 months ago. Over those 7 months, my boyfriend had become my bestfriend. Now that he dumped me, all we do is fight. I don't think I could bear loosing another best friend.

Another problem: I don't want to be commited. I'm only in 10th grade. Now is not the time to be tying myself down with one person, just to get hurt.

Another problem: I have feelings for a few boys at my school (Justin and I go to different schools).

He wants to go out sooo bad. And we have 'heart to heart' talks like .. every night.

I really don't know what to do!
-Beth

Dear Beth,
To answer your first question if you and your ex-boyfriend fight all the time mabey you guys just shouldn't be friends. Thing might just have to work out that way. For your second question you shouldn't feel that you have to be comitted 10th grade is a really hard time in your life with school and social life. I think that you should not go out with anybody and just stay friends until you find "the one". I think this is what you should do and I hope you take my advice.

Sincerely,
Hunter92993

Give this guy a chance. You might be risking a lot, and might end up losing more than you got, but think of it this way: you never know how good things could turn out. By turning him down, you could be missing out on something totally worth your time and care. And if in the end, things don't turn out too well, life will offer a lot more in the future. And remember, "For every girl with a broken heart, there's a guy with a gluegun.." =)
And it's not a very bad thing that you feel for other guys at your school. One of them could be an option for you if things go wrong with Justin.
Be affectionate!

Hope I've helped
