haha.. sorry wrong category. Anywayss,, okk i just got a new wire for my braces, and my teeth really really hurt. They're not poking my mouth or anything.. just really sore. Anything i can do??
whenever they changed my wires i took Tylenol (sp?) or ibuprofen, depending on how old you are. also....i tried this when they adjusted my retainers (hurts just as bad about) try holding cold water in your mouth...sucking on ice (plz be careful, u could choke if you swallow it accidentally) if they rub on your lip get some cream from the drug store or department store that numbs your lip...it should say its for brace spots or somthing liek that...
its painful....but the pain should subside partially to fully in a few days.
i have the upmost sympathy for you, since i went through nearly 3 long years of the same torture! BUT ITS WORTH IT! believe me....
god-smusgrove answered Saturday December 16 2006, 7:59 pm: sorry to say, but they're supposed to be tight.
but, you know how your ortho dude said not to chew gum or anything? because they loosen up your wire. so now, im telling you to chew gum, or anything, but keep it to a minimum to prevent brachet breakage. [ god-smusgrove's advice column | Ask god-smusgrove A Question ]

You really should contact your Orthodontist (dentist) and see if he/she can fix your problem.
Unless you are new to your braces, it's normal they'll hurt at first, and a new wire can do the same, so give it about a week first.
If it persists or worsens for a week or two, check with your dentist just to be assured it's normal and you'll be OK.
