Does your boyfriend like a specific teamm such as a soccer, football, or hockey team. If so then get him a jersey of his favorite team.
Another good idea is calogne such as Ralph Loren Black or Blue, or maybe Adidas it's more of a sporty calogne.
And a show that he likes on dvd is a thoughtful idea.
Try not to spend too much money try to keep it between $10-$30 and make a homemade card with some thoughtful words in it.
