there's this kid in my grade who i've had a crush on for a long time in middle school, but now that i'm in high school i can honestly say that i don't like him anymore. i mean if he asked me out i'd still get kinda excited and say yes, but i dont feel butterflies in my stomach when i see him in the halls or anything like that anymore. i'm over him. but somehow EVERYONE knew i had a crush on him in middle school, and they still kind of joke about it sometimes even now.. like this one girl asked me RIGHT in front of the guy.. "do you love each other?" in a joking way.. but it still kind of hurt me.. and i just say "yeahhh.. " in a really sarcastic way and walked away. this kind of stuff keeps happening to me and i want it to stop! :( but i can never get good enough comebacks that actually sound like i DONT like him anymore and not like i still like him but im trying ot hide it. thanks so much for your help
even though you may not like someone else yet right now, you can always tell a little fib ; jsut to get everybody off your back. tell your friends that you like somebody else, but you're not going to share with them who cause you don't want him finding out like the whole school did before with this other guy.
knowing kids and knowing their love for gossip, and since they'll probably be shocked that you like someone else, it may start to spread around the school ; if it doesn't just yet, help it along and tell a few other people.
and also, the next time someone asks you if you two love eachother just jokingly be like,"haha well i don't know if he loves ME, but i have my sights set on another now." and just laugh and say it in a joking way so you don't sound like you're being serious and like "i dont like him anymore wtf" cause that may hurt his feelings.
