If you are actively trying to conceive, the first thing you will need to do is chart your periods. This will help you determine how long your cycle is, which can help you figure out when you're ovulating. Ovulation is when an egg is released from the ovaries.

Neither of you needs to have an orgasm for a pregnancy to occur. From the time a penis is erect, a substance called pre-cum begins to leak from the tip of his penis. This has thousands of sperm in it. An orgasm will release more sperm, however.
If you have an orgasm it can be helpful, but not needed. Basically, when a female orgasms, her cervix dips down and this can help increase the chance that sperm will make it to their final destination.
