Yes it can. It's brown a lot. And sometimes it's red. I find that when my flow is heavier, that it's redder in color. Don't ask me why, but that's the way it usually works out. And the discharge is normal.

When you first get your period the blood can be anywhere from brown to red but it's usually brown. And for me it's always been that color. And yes you can still get discharge while having your period. There's nothing abnormal abbout it!

hey, even when you dont first get your period, the blood can often look like a rusty color [ brownish redish ]. yes, you can still get discharge while your on your period. you get it while your off of your period too.
