my hair is naturally wavy, but I like to wear it straight every once in a while. Whenever I blow dry it though, it just gets really poofy and frizzy. I have layers, so they all curl under.
help, pleaseee.
:]
I'm not sure if you are asking how to wear your hair straight or wavy, so I'll help you with both.
WAVY:
I've just learned to embrace my waves.
I used to straighten my hair everyday, so its a lovely change.
If you want to wear it wavy but keep it frizz-free try a frizz-free shampoo (I use SunSilk, however there are dozens of brands to use)
Use a very wide tooth comb in the shower to part your hair and comb it through (This also helps rinse out ALL conditioner) Then when you get out of the shower put your hair up in a towel for five minutes.
Take the towel out but do NOT comb your hair.
Lightly scrunch your hair with your hands. Let it dry naturally for about half of the amount of time it usually takes your hair to dry. Then apply curling mousse or curl ehancing spray to your damp hair and scrunch hair again to increase waves. Use a blow dryer WITH A DIFFUSER to dry the rest of your hair. Do this by gathering small sections of hair, scrunching them in your hand all the while having the blow dryer blast it on a low setting. Finish of with hair spray to lock in the style.
IF YOU WANT TO GO STRAIGHT.
Wash and condition your hair.
Some straightening shampoos may work, I've never seen much success with any specific brand, so I just suggest a non-frizz shampoo such as SunSilk or John Frieda.
Now, from the way you asked your question it appears you do not have a flat iron to assist in the straightening process.
If this is true; when you get out of the shower towel dry hair to get rid of excess water.
When hair is not dripping wet, apply Pantene Pro-V(or other brand) Straightening Mousse. Then apply a smoothing milk (any brand will work fine) Comb products in thouroughly. (sp?)
Now, blow dry your hair with the dryer facing DOWNWARDS. This cuts out alot of frizz that may occure. Use a paddle brush or a roud brush to seperate hair and straighten the hair as it dries.
If you do have a flat iron, once the hair is bone dry seperate your hair in several layers and sections. Begin straightenin after applying heat-protectant spray.
Blast your hair with a dryer on a COOL setting to set the style and spray with hairspray. Run your brush thru the hair to ensure softness and smoothness.
Good Luck <3
