i really love the preppy look and i want to become more preppy. any tips for clothing, hair, make up, personality, etc. would be greatly appriciated. thanks
*Clothing/Shoes: Polos, tee shirts, mini skirts, flip flops, birks (birkenstocks or clogs-they call them both the same names), hoodies, skinny jeans, ripped jeans, shorts, tote bags, purses, sunglasses, flats, stud earrings or small hoops, etc.
*Hair-Straight, curley, donut buns, messy buns, messy pontytails, french braids, and a ribbon in your hair.
*Make-up: Eyeliner on the bottom eyelid, some mascara, and clear or light colored lip gloss. Keep it nice & simple, too much make-up is not really attractive :)
*Personality: There's not really a personality to be preppy. Just act yourself and be nice, I mean, because you would be considered a POSER if you acted all ditzy and annoying just to act like someone else :)
In addition, you could try playing sports like Softball, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, rugby, field hockey, swimming, etc. Not only do a lot of preppy people play them, but they're also really fun sports and you'll meet more friends that way. I mean, it's good and all that you want to be a prep-I have some of those characteristics too, but just be yourself, and not a fake-trust me, people will like you more if you act yourself. :)
Here are some websites:
www.abercrombie.com
www.abercrombiekids.com
www.hollisterco.com
www.victoriasecret.com or www.vspink.com
www.ae.com
www.aeropostale.com
www.ruehl.com (They don't really display their clothes on their website)
*Um, I'm not sure about the websites for J Crew and Ralph Lauren, but you could just Google it :)

ok so...
clothing::abercrombie, hollister, j crew, juicy couture. anything like that. go for the polos and cute skirts. skinny jeans and ballet flats <3
hair::straight and sleek or cute and wavy. ponytails are a no-no...unless youre at practice or something. the sidebangs are a good look right now =]
make up::anything sephora or mac. not too much either..just some cute eyeliner and mascara..dont go overboard with the blush and just a cute clear or light pink gloss =]
personality::there really is no "preppy" personality, ya know? just be nice. and smile a lot!! hehe
its_melissa_DuH answered Saturday October 28 2006, 4:56 pm: to become preppy, shop at
abercrombie kids
abercrombie and fitch
hollister
american eagle
wet seal
stores like that. but mainly abercrombie and hollister. there kinda pricey, but check the clearance section they have great stuff! i dont know if they still have it for you but 1 month ago i was at abercrombie and they had A LOT of cutee t-shirts, tank tops, and denimn shorts on sale for $4.95!! i practically bought the whole shelf of stuff lol. for your hair, let it be down a lot. straighten it, scrunch it, curl it. for personality, just be yourself! if your fake, no one would want to be friends with you. for makeup, dont go overboard like some of the other girls. just simple mascara, eyeshadow(natural colors like gold, pink, brown etc.) blush, lipgloss, and a little eyeliner on the bottom of your eye. good luck and hope i helped!
epicadvice answered Saturday October 28 2006, 2:59 pm: I've been told that I am preppy and I hang out with a lot of preppy people, so I think I would be able to help you with this question. If you can afford it, try buying some clothes from hollister, abercrombie&fitch, and american eagle. For accessories, wear earrings and a pretty necklace. You can find those at american eagle also. For hair, you can straighten it or scrunch it depending on your hair type. Also, highlights are in. Make-up; not too much, eyeliner, lipgloss, and eyeshadow. For personality, just try to be yourself. You don't want people to think that you're fake.
