In school we get Progress Reports, before Report cards to show how we're doing in each class. Once the Progress Report is out, we have 3 weeks to bring our grades up or down until the report card. All my grades are above 85 except Geometry. I have a 63. I am absolutely deathly afraid of showing my father. He'll already be so pissed that some grades are under 90. Idk what to do, he knows when Progress Reports come out, and I have to show him. (It comes Monday, I just know my grade already) What should I do? I already get tutored by my teacher, I am just not strong in math. My father really doesn't understand this, he thinks he's much better than everyone, and expects me to be as well. Should I promise my grade will go up or something?
GirlAnonymous answered Saturday October 21 2006, 4:11 am: You have to be honest. Tell him you've really been trying your hardest and that you can at least raise it to a 70 in 3 weeks or sooner. If he gets angry, be understanding. Arguing and yelling won't help you or your dad. Just nod and tell him you are really trying and that it's been stressful for you lately.
As for what happens afterwards, keep your promise of getting that grade up. Explain to your tutor that you need help on keeping grades up because your dad gets onto you about it. If your tutor knows the situation, he/she will be willing to keep you out of trouble with grades and help you. [ GirlAnonymous's advice column | Ask GirlAnonymous A Question ]
