Grinding noise when starting from stop only in first gear.
Hi,
I have a 5 speed honda prelude..hear a grinding noise when I start from stop and rev up the engine a little. I can start from a stop slowly and the sound dosen't occur. Could it be a serious problem with the transmission? or do I just need a transmission fluid change?

at a stop do you leave the car in gear or in neutral? if you leave it in gear and start from a stop then move forward and hear a grinding noise you've got a transmission problem. if you leave it in neutral, put it in gear, and hear the grinding you're not shifting properly. so how do you do it? do you leave it in gear? or leave it in neutral. answer me that and i can help figure this out.
