Does anyone know what the rings around Zimbabwe's woman's necks are called, if called anything. Also, do you know why?

The more rings they wore the wealthier their husbands were.
They were also known to wear isigolwani rings which are made of twisted grass and decorated with beads, mostly for ceremonial purposes. They would also wear both these types of rings around their legs and arms. The practice of wearing Idzilas is dying out and so are not worn every day now.
Hope that helps. [ isis's advice column | Ask isis A Question ]
