I have a bad vaginal odor ..i've already been to a doctor and they said I do not have any infections, and to just continue to wash properly and yada yada yada...however, I wash myself daily and have no idea what is causing this. Does anyone know of any way to get rid of this horrible odor???

VHELP answered Friday March 12 2010, 1:44 pm: I know exactly what you are talking about. I have been tested by my doctor, gynecologists and they all say I don't have anything. No BV, no yeast, no std's. All they say is to eat more yogurt. This is not working either. I have tried all kinds of natural products. The doctors say this is just how I am made. I have been going through this since 2007, and now its 2010. I will be ordering Femanol real soon, because I just don't know what to do anymore. Good luck with this awful adventure. There is a safe, natural remedy for bacterial vaginosis
Enzara, a product manufactured by Selmedica Healthcare, is a great natural remedy for bacterial vaginosis. It eliminates the need for antibiotics so you can treat your problem without getting another problem.
I recommend getting a thorough diagnosis even if you have to seek the help of 2-3 gynocologists. Then if you discover it is bacterial vaginosis...first try the natural remedy. If the natural remedy above does not work for you, your physician my prescribe antibiotics. The antibiotics may cause a yeast infection so then you might use yogurt cultures to offset the yeast infection. You can buy various yogurt cultures at your health food store.
I hope this helps. Many women suffer from this..some sporadically, some chronically..others do not know they have the odor until someone tells them...so do not worry just take care of it. [ tessa's advice column | Ask tessa A Question ]
its_melissa_DuH answered Saturday October 7 2006, 9:38 pm: if you have your period, change your pad or tampon more often. Always pads just came out with a new pad with an attached wipe with it so whenever you change your pad you can wipe yourself with the wipe that comes with it. or just use scented tampons or pads. if you don't have your period, just like everyone said bring wipes with you. good luck and hope i helped!

Elexa makes freshening wipes, Contine to wash, but do not go crazy with it. Your vagina is a self-cleansing organ, when you over-wash it dries out the tissue, so your vagina tries to lubricate itself by adding a lot of juices. The vaginal tissues are very sensitive, so if you MUST use soap be sure to use a mild, unscented soap (ivory soap is good). Be sure to change your underwear regularly and wipe yourself properly (front to back and not the other way around) and fairly thoroughly (not to the point of chafing or dying, though). Ketting your vagina air out and go au natural if you can might be good for you. If you get really worried, you can always go to a gyno (I don't know if you already have, but you should consider it if you haven't).

spacefem answered Friday October 6 2006, 8:40 am: I'm sure there's nothing I can tell you that doctor's haven't. Make sure you're using unscented soap when you wash, and wear clothes that breathe like cotton. Try sleeping without underwear at all to sort of air thing out.
Really though, are you sure it's bad? Because what might seem bad to you might just be normal. It's okay for your vagina to smell like a vagina, you might just need to accept it the way it is. [ spacefem's advice column | Ask spacefem A Question ]
