Hi,I'm going to get my belly-button periced and I was wondering what they use and ,does it hurt I;m scared about the whole thing but my best friend is coming with me.What do I do?
Disconnected answered Tuesday July 22 2008, 2:50 pm: It hurts, more for some than others. Depends on your pain tolerance level.
They will either use clamps or without. Most piercers use clamps.
Also a hollow needle. Usually 14ga.
Before you go out to get your navel pierced, eat something before. Not so that you're really full, but so that you're not hungry. Some people faint after piercings if they haven't eaten.
Wear a top that isn't likely to get hooked on your fresh piercing. Such as a light top, not a heavy jacket or whatever.
The clamps may hurt, but honestly, some people say it does, some say it doesn't.
If the piercer uses a numbing spray, then it will be slightly less painful, but not too much.
Relax before you get there, make sure that your navel is clean.
Listen very carefully to the aftercare. The piercer should give you instructions.
Don't mess with the piercing.
Also make sure that the piercing studio is clean and has a good reputation.

(I have my navel pierced, and I know a lot about it since I've had it done twice. I've also been through infections and different after care methods, so I can help you with all of your problems :) )
