a lot of people say it contradicts the bible. however, it is fiction, so it doesn't matter if it contradicts the bible because it's not real. it's just a good story, and i'm sure some of it's made up, and some of it is based on fact. if you want to, read the book... i would really recommend it because it's one of my favorites. then you can form your own opinion about it. personally, i think that it is an awesome story, whether it's real or not. but the thing is, mankind will probably never figure out if it's real or not because it's about the holy grail and mary magdalene and stuff (and how da vinci fits in with that). it's pretty awesome, and it's got a lot of history in it (which probably sounds boring but it's a great book, i think). anyway, if i were you, i would read it, but if you don't read it then don't go ahead and label it good/bad... a lot of my friends haven't read it and before the movie came out they were like, "ew, the da vinci code, that's sacrilegious" or whatever, but then they saw the movie and were like, "omg such a great movie." so think what you will, but just so you know- a lot of people (namely the catholic church) got mad about all the references to stuff (basically they thought it made the catholic church look bad)... but it's just a story, so that doesn't mean it's true.

It contradicts the Bible. Thecontroversy is that Dan Brown has somehow sabotaged the religion or whatever. I personally don't know what the big deal is. It's a good book (I'm in the middle of it) and it's FICTION. FICTION. As in, not real!!

That's what people forget. Everything's blown out of proportion, and now the poor guy has to have fences around his property to keep psychos out =/
