Pink monitor

Question Posted Sunday September 3 2006, 4:15 am

My computer does this thing where everything on the screen gets pink tinge to it. It only started recently, and usually only lasts a little while so I ignore it. But now it's doing it and it won't go away. It's really irritating because I can't see things properly, I've tried changing all the settings but it doesn't seem to help. Is there anything I can do?

Hello there,

Check the monitor cable. GENTLY wiggle the cable where it connects to your video card (back of the computer) then at the back of the monitor.

Be sure to watch the screen while doing this to see if it changes while you are manipulating the cable.

The other thing to do, if you can, is to hook the monitor up to another computer.

If it doesn't do it on the other machine, then you may have a faulty video card in your computer.

If that isn't it, and you have reset the monitor to factory settings already, then it is time to start shopping for a new monitor... unless this one is under warranty.

I don't know if you have a LCD flat panel monitor or CRT monitor, but if you have a CRT, this would be a good time to switch to LCD.

Let me know how you make out with all of this.

DN.
