i am 16 and have had braces for 21 months but i dnt want them anymore they were just put on to close gaps but theyre sort of closed now and i was wondering if a 16 year old is allowed to stop treatmeant?

I would highly highly highly recommend you keep them on. Seriosuly, if you get them off now, your teeth will be extremely screwed up shortly after you do so. And it'll be extremely painful. They'll shift around and it won't be pretty. Even if it looks to you like your teeth are all "fixed", according to your orthadontist, they're obviously not. And under your parents' jurisdiction since you're still a minor, I'm pretty sure you cannot contest to treatment against will anyway. Sorry, hun. Oh and if you feel like you've had them forever, just think of my cousin who had braces for four years and then didn't wear his retainer so they shifted around and he had to get them again for six years.
