well you can put the eyeliner in your bottom inner eyelid or under your lashes, whatever you want....While some women swear by those khol pencil, which is the most popular type of liner, others find liquid liner easier to use. (the kind with the sponge end is easiest) Experiment with both until you find the one that's right for you.
in my personal opinion, liquid eyeliner looks best on anyone, but it takes some practice so you dont mess up...

if the eyeliner is going in your eye, you just really have to think about having a steady hand and not going so close to your eyeball....When applying your liner, rest your elbows on a table, or other surface. It'll stop any sudden movements which will make your eyeliner wobbly

you dont have to put eyeliner inside your eye, it usually comes off right away anyway...they have waterproof pencils though, which may be better for you if you want to line the inside of your eye......

remember though.....line the inside of your eye with a WHITE pencil to make your eyes appear LARGER, line the inside of your eyes with a DARK color, and your eyes will seem alot SMALLER (curling your eyelahses also opens your eyes)

Pencils can be smudged for a more subtle look.

as for the eyeshadows typically grays, blues and browns work well with light eyes and browns and purples look nice on brown eyes...lavenders always bring out the brown

if you want any websites or anything just go to google and type in anything along the lines of "eyeliner tips" or "eyeliner tricks" ( [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) )

if you need more information or ideas for any makeup/makeup application you can just message me, i have like 30 different books on makeup/application and i know alot, this stuff i told you is basicly stuff i know from the top of my head, so if you need more info on anything just IM me, anything at all you want to know about makeup i can tell you alot about, and if you want to know about more dramatic makeup i can certanly explain that too haha i wear alot alot of makeup and liquid eyeliner so yaa

First of all, thats not how you apply eyeliner.

You pull your bottom eye lid down and apply it right under your eye.
Its really complicated to explain.
You have the idea, but no eyeliner should go in your eye. If it does, your not doing it right.

Go here, for step by step process:

:D

Also, I would recommend black eyeliner, the pencil kind.
Black Eyeliner looks so pretty with brown eyes.

If you need more help, let me know!
Hope I helped!

DO NOT PUT EYELINER ABOVE YOUR EYELASHES!!!
i had a mary-kay seller person tell that to me, she said your eyelashes are to keep things from getting in your eye, so put your eyeliner like on that line of your eyelashes. & as for eyeshadow i strongly recomend Almay Intense i-Color, heres a link to it. you can find it at most drug stores or wal-mart =]

i know you don't like purple but it will pop your eyes out and make them look pretty.

also putting LIGHTLY white powder eyeshadow with your finger smearing it across below the bottom of your brow line it will draw attention to your eyes. but you dont want to make like clown light just a transparent shimmery look.

& i know everybody wears black dark eyeliner but brown in a lot more subtle which i prefer.

Always start from the inner to the outer part of your eye.

here are some links to some beauty tip sites

i hope i helped =]
