Unwinding Whenever I've attempted to start my summer homework, I can't concentrate because I have 57354842349 different things running through my mind.
Can anyone offer ways to concentrate on a boring book or to calm my mind down? I don't want this problem to go on any longer!!
Thanks so much.

You actaully might have ADHD.
I know a couple people who have this problem.
But if you're positive you don't
Try to relax before you go to read, like take a bubblebath and kind of let your mind go. ]
this happens to me only a billion times, i take a break and when i am done with my brake i go in a quiet room where there isnt any distractions. then i clear my mind by closing my eyes and taking deep breaths, as silly it might sound it works. good luck! ]
You might try writing down all the things going on in your head to put them to rest. Closing your eyes and a few deep breaths do it for some people. If this has been a lifelong recurring problem, you could need to talk to a doctor to get help. Maybe you just hate summer homework, and I don't blame you. Try to do the homework at the same time every day, before you are too tired to concentrate. Also, make sure there are no distractions around you, such as T.V. etc.. ]
Get your cd player, ipod, mp3 player or whatever and just lay down and relax for like 2 songs. Focus on only the songs. Now keep the music playing and start your report. If the music distracts you too much then you can turn it off. ]
