i really want to sleep over

Question Posted Saturday August 12 2006, 10:34 am

My sister is sleeping over my neighbors lake house tonight while my mom goes out to dinner with my dad and their friends. I'm stuck home with my grandma who is old and boring (no offence) and I don't want to spend a night playing cards and listening to her oldies music. I see her every week already so it's not like I have no spend MORE time with her. My mom already said NO FRIENDS. I really want to sleep over my neighbors house with my sister. They didn't invite me but I have slept over plenty of times before and they enjoy me sleeping over because I help them watch the kids when they want to have a couple of drinks. My mom thinks it would be rude for me to ask them if I could come, but they are the type of family that doesn't get offended if you ask. My mom says I canm ask if I'm allowed to sleep over with my sister if I make up a really good excuse why I should that doesn't sound cheesy or rehearsed or desperate. They live right next store so I can easily ask them. So if I'm going to sleep over I have to call my neighbors and ask them but not make it seem like I'm just a place to stay. I want to mention the whole baby sitting thing but I don't know what to say. Help on what to say when I call and ask?
