I`m 5'2" 1/2 and weigh 115 pounds and I`m 15 years old. All my friends are taller then me and weigh less. My one friend who is 5'2" only 1/2 inch shorter then me weight 105. My friend who is 5'5" (3 inches taller then me) only weights 120, 5 pounds more then me. My friends make me feel fat, and that is wrong. I shouldn`t compair myself to them, but I can`t help it. So my questions are ::
- am I over weight // if so how can I lose the weight I need to.
- how should I go about loosing the weight I need to (if I do)
- how can i make myself believe that i am not fat, compaired to my friends.

TEENAGExHEARTS answered Monday July 31 2006, 6:46 pm: okay i checked your BMI (Body Mass Index) and your in the 21st percentile. i know its confusing but all that really means is that your at the normal weight range for people your height. the normal weight range for being 5'2" 1/2 is 101-135 pounds. so really your NOT fat. but even being at the healthy weight range you can still have a little "pouch" of fat around your stomach. i would say that if you really want to lose weight you should aim for about 10 pounds. to lose the weight you should watch what you eat. DO NOT eat junk food (chips, cookies, candy) instead eat lots of fruits & veggies. try replacing everything you drink with water. Aim to drink 8 bottles of water a day. okay here is an example meal plan for one day:
BREAKFAST: each one bowl of healthy cereal (look for something high in protein and/or fiber) & a piece of fruit (stay away from banannas).
LUNCH: one turkey sandwich on wheat bread & one piece of fruit
DINNER: since your 15 your parents probably still make you your dinner. if they won't make you anything different then what they are eating then just eat one helping of dinner. but if they will make you something special you can try eating a chicken ceasar salad, or a turkey, cheese, & lettuce wrap.
SNACK: low fat yogurt. you can eat this between breakfast & lucnh or between lunch & dinner. you should really try not to eat after dinner.
you should also exercise for about 60 minutes a day. you can jog, bike, play a sport, dance, or if you have it you could do DDR.
you have to be patient. if you are losing weight in a healthy way then you should only lose about 2-3 pounds a week.
now you need to convince yourself that you are beautiful. you shouldn't be comparing yourself to your friends. you should think of all the things that you like about yourself and always remind yourself of those things when you are compairing yourself to your friends.
and thanks for the compliment about my advice. but to tell you the truth i'm 14 not 13 and i'll be turning 15 soon!
