Ok, well I really like this guy and it seems like he likes me too, but my best friend dated him. If the guy I like asks me out should I talk to my friend about it first or just go out with him?

You should deffinitely talk about it with your friend. This is a very delicate situation and you do not want to hurt your friend's feelings; especially if it's your best friend. After all, boyfriends and girlfriends usually end by breaking up (unless you get married...) but friends are for life. I don't think you should date him/go out with him if your friend and the guy you like were in a really serious relationship. Just remember these things when/if you go out with him:
1) DONT blow your friend off for going to the movies with him (this is a big NO)
2) DO ask her if she is okay with it, if you are getting the vibes that she is really not liking the idea of you two going out, I think you should reconsider.
3) DONT talk about you two being in love and kissing and stuff around her, she will most likely get hurt (duh)
4) DONT talk about the idea of going out with him to your bff UNLESS he asks you;; and if/when he does, this is how you should handle it:
Guy: [Your name here], I was wondering, will you be my girlfriend? *smiles*
You: Aww that's so sweet of you! I'll think about it *winks*
It will be really hard for you to say "I'll think about it" but you need to talk to your friend about it first. That night ask your friend what she thinks about you two going out and tell her that you said to him I'll think about it because you want to make sure it's okay with your friend. This is good because she feels important =)
