Hair Help

Question Posted Saturday July 15 2006, 7:57 pm

I just got my hair chemically straightened in China (im chinese) recently, and the person said it lasts for about like 1-2 years. i've only had it for about 2 weeks now. I was wondering though, is it ok for me to go swimming without a swimming cap and without having to use products in my hair after swimming? like can i just wash my hair thouroughly after swimming and blow-drying it? Also, I'm loosing like a ton of hair after blow drying it after showering, so must i blow dry my hair every time after i shower? i feel like im balding!!! thanks!

Yeah, it's safe to go swimming now and you do not have to use any extra products.

When I had my hair chemically straightened I had the same problem with my hair coming out when I blowdried but when you think about it, you have lots of hairs and new ones grow all the time. Although blowdrying your hair will cause hairs to fall out, even though it feels like alot, it's usually less than you think. Most people loose from 50-100 hairs a day and they grow back.

I stopped blowdrying my hair as much because it seemed like I was loosing hair like crazy. So I'd only blowdry when I wanted it actually straight. Some days I would just put my hair up or wear it in a messy bun and such. It cut down alot on the hair loss. If you do wear it up though, don't put it up too tight because (you guessed it!) that causes hairs to fall out as well.

Another thing that causes hair falling out like that is not getting enough proteins, vitamins and minerals so make sure you're eating health as well.

Good luck && if you have anymore questions I'd be happy to answer them! :)
