Hey guys.. I have a keyboard and I can't really play music ( I mean like I can sight read and all that jazz, but it's kind of slow.) anyway, what I do is I learn songs by listening to the song and then plucking out notes, and then sing with the playing. (Example: White Houses by Vanessa Carlton. Uninvited by ALanis Morisette.) Does anyone know any song that are easy to pluck out on the keyboard and can be sung while playing? Thanks in advanced.

I've been playing piano for 9 years now and I'm pretty good at playing by ear so most of the time I'll sit down at the piano with my iPod on and go through a whole blues CD or whatever and just play along. It's pretty fun, and it's cool that you do stuff like that too. Have you ever tried listening to Coldplay? Much of their stuff is actually the same thing over and over again, so if you figure out one part of the song, you can just play it through the whole song and BAM you've got Coldplay! My favorites by them are "Clocks," "Speed of Sound," "Trouble," and "The Scientist." Try it out, it's pretty fun (and entertains friends, too... my friends will stand around the piano for hours and request songs, it's pretty cool). Anyway, good luck! :) [ uisforukelele's advice column | Ask uisforukelele A Question ]
