Okay i live in duncanville texas, near or in dallas. i have to buy a clarinet. most likely i'll get a yamaha. i wanna know where i can get one thats @ a good price. and near me.

Maybe give some free advice about: Music? uisforukelele answered Sunday July 16 2006, 10:35 pm: allright, i've been playing saxophone for four years so i'm familiar with reed instruments. i live farther east in texas than you do, but whatever. if you're looking for a yamaha, be prepared to spend some money. it might take a while to find the perfect horn. there are so many things that can go wrong with a clarinet/saxophone before you even buy it that it's not even funny. but here we go. i just checked yellowpages.com for music stores in duncanville, and they didn't have any that would carry clarinets. i don't know if you want a used horn or not, so it's hard to tell you anything. go to this website: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and scan the list. those are the music stores in dallas. i could name off tons of places to get a clarinet, but you said that you didn't want an online thing, so i can't help you there. if you do decide to get it online (and if you get it new, it will actually be better and lower priced than if you get the same used clarinet at a store. i'm just warning you, and you get a better deal and a better horn that will last longer and have less problems)... anyway, if you do decide to get it online, check out woodwind & brasswind ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)), musician's friend ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) or even guitar center, but they might not have clarinets ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)). i would recommend woodwind & brasswind because they are a wholesaler, not a retail store and they don't mark the prices up after the instruments come from the factory. all of the instruments are new, and you can usually get a pretty good package on that kind of stuff. i bought my tenor sax there last year (it was over $5,000) and it arrived perfect, in due time. anyway, you should also check the classifieds in your local newspaper. there are always several clarinets in my classifieds, and my classifieds really suck. if you can't get a hold of a yamaha, you might even want to try a buffet (they're actually supposed to be better than yamaha). anyway, this has been really long and random. good luck!
