1992 Acura Legend won't pass DEQ My 1992 Legend won't pass DEQ because black smoke is coming out of the exhaust. By any chance do you know what is causing this?

Black smoke typically indicates a rich mixture, meaning too much fuel to too little air.
With fuel injection, there are a few different possible causes:
Ignition computer keeping the injector open too long.
Oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. (Most likely cause, and cheapest fix)
Timing off, so fuel isn't completely burned.
If there is a turbo, or super-charger that complicates things.
Now if you have blue smoke... (look carefully while it is light out) there is oil in the fuel. That indicates a mechanical malfunction which is allowing oil to be burned with the fuel.
