I seem to be very sensitive about religon and ethnicty.
like if somone says oh hey did you see that movie you know..with the black girl in it. Or even if my history teacher says black when he is teaching it makes me feel very uncomfortable. i just feel that it is better to say african american. and it is not just for african american people its for every ethnicity. like my mom said it seem like everyone i talk to is ______ ( some race or something)?
i think that this is an okay way to be but... i dont know i was just wonder if people thought that this was to senstive or up-tight.
Sorry for all of the spelling mistakes.

HectorJr answered Saturday June 24 2006, 8:19 pm: Hmm I get what you mean. It's fine, nothing you should worry about though. Honestly, almost everyone is so used to saying stuff like that - that is why people may do so without noticing that they could be offending somebody or misusing the term. If you are sensitive about it, then thats ok. Just don't go too far with it by being mad at people or trying to constantly correct people in a mean way. So long as you stick to it and say it the way you want to, I'm sure you'll be ok and nobody will give you a hard time about it. If they do, ignore them; they are the ones being too sensitive about it. Hope that helped. [ HectorJr's advice column | Ask HectorJr A Question ]
