I can't believe she said that to him!!
Yesterday we had this family barbeque thing and while the guys where grilling, my sister and all of our girl cousins were in my room talking...girl stuff you know. Well the subject of marriage came up and my sister and I were talking about how we'd never marry anyone unless they were good looking, older but only by a few years and make as much or more money than our dad (be super rich).
Of COURSE we were playing around. I mean honestly, lots of girls say that but when it comes down to it, we wouldn't really choose our husbands based on that.
Well, today, one of my cousins went and told the guy I'm dating what I said. She told him that the reason I went out with my ex bf for so long was because he already has a million dollars to his name and he's only 18(his dad passed away a few years ago and left it to him).
So the guy I'm seeing doesn't know what to think and just kind of blew up in my face about it. I tried to explain but he just left. Now I don't know what to do because this is such a retarded situation. How do I get him to listen to me?

I think you really need to own up to this one. Yes, it was very inconsiderate of your cousin to blab (ulterior motive, maybe?), but if you hadn't said those things, she wouldn't have anything to blab. Talk to your beau, tell him you were joking, just saying stupid things for the shock value. Point out to him that if that's what you really wanted, you wouldn't be with him in the first place. Make sure you emphasize that you DO want to be with him, and tell him WHY. Then have a nice "chat" with your blabby cousin.

Well, first off, that was pretty stupid of your cousin. Second, you need to talk to your boyfriend. He has to listen to you, since you are his girlfriend, because it was just a big misunderstanding with your cousin. Tell him that accidents happen and that you will always love him. If he still doesn't understand after you try to explain the situation, then maybe he's being unconsiderate and not acting like he's supposed to. So, your best bet is to talk to him, explain the situation, and tell him that you're sorry about what your cousin did. Give him a big hug. xDD

When you get the chance to talk to him, before he begins to "ignore" you or anything. Tell him if he really cares about you, he will listen to what you have to say about the whole thing. If he feels that way, he will also understand [[once you've told him that your cousin was making up that reason about your ex]] that thats not really what was going on, and it was just one of those "girl times" ; something all girls say. Plus how old is your cousin? if shes younger than you, than he should totally understand that she was making it up. If he doesnt believe you or still doesnt listen, have one of your friends talk to him ; or talk to one of his friends about it.
