so there is this boy..and he is one of my bestest friends. && we get along really well. and like seriously, whenever neither of us have a boyfriend or girlfriend or whatever we always end up liking each other!! and we've never actually gone out but pretty much have at the beginning of the school year.. && right now i'm single, and i had told one of my best girl friends that i will always kinda like him a lil bit and stuff and then now him and his girlfriend just broke up. and his girlfriend (well now ex) is a good friend of mine too!! and she broke up w/ him and he's really sad and stuff..and we are totally here for eachother so everything is all good..but i don't know if we are gonna end up liking eachother again, or anything. and i don't know if i want to like him or not, because he totally likes long term relationships and i don't always last the longest and i totally don't want to ruin our friendship. how do i keep myself from liking him? or do i just like him and see how stuff goes? or what???
ii_llove_yuu answered Friday June 16 2006, 1:41 am: well, something similar to your situation happened between me and my best friend. i took a chance going out with him, and it was so awkward. for several weeks, we didn't talk after we broke up. what you need to consider is how much do you care about your friendship now? take it frome someone who has been there .. things will not go directly back to normal once you break up. you also need to picture yourself with him and think: does it feel right? as for keeping yourself from liking him, you cannot control what your heart wants, but you can try and find another guy to like and focus on instead of thinking about your friend. i'm sure whatever happens will be for the best, so good luck!
i hope this helps,
