my parents are so quick to gudge anything about anyone. they make jokes about all my friends and make fun of everyone. OF COURSE NOT to their faces but to me. and its disgusting and it makes me really upset when they tell jokes about my friends or my boyfriend or just random people they see. its terrible, and i am NOTHING like that. and i know your gonna tell me not to worry about it but i am. what can i do to get my parents to stop??!!
(talking to them hasnt worked AT ALL!!!)
well thanks for taking the time to read this and please help me out!!
I know that you say that talking to them hasn't worked, but you should keep trying. Make sure they know how much it hurts you and that it makes you uncomfortable. Phrase it in the most RESPECTFUL way you can- try not to get angry or snap at them, even though it may be difficult. Parents respond best to their child being open to talk about their problems without being accusatory.
If this still doesn't work, tell them you don't want to be around them when they act like this. You obviously can't do this in the car, for example, but if you're just hanging around your house, say that you shouldn't have to listen to this and go to your room.

I have always gotten upset and stuff when I heard them.
The best thing you can do if you have already tried to talk to them, is ignore them.
Don't let them get to you, they can think what they want about your friends and boyfriends, but don't let them sway your thinking.
I hated when my family did that, and eventually I just ignored them. It really helped.
I hope everything works out.
